But this isn’t just a checklist—it’s a versatile tool that can transform your classroom. Here are a few cool ways I’ve used it:
- Turn Standards into a Gallery Walk: I love to print out the learning targets and hang them around the room. I have students walk around and read them before we start a new unit. This gets them thinking about the big picture and what they’ll be learning throughout the year.

At the end of a lesson, I have them quickly rate their confidence on a 1-5 scale for that day’s target. It’s a fantastic way to check for understanding and see who might need a little extra help.
