My Secret to Making Harry Potter Comprehension Fun and FREE: A Trivia Board Game!

Hey there, fellow teachers and magical educators!

I am so excited to share something I’ve been working on to bring a little extra magic into my own classroom—and yours! We’ve all been there: the end of a great book unit arrives, and we need to check for comprehension. But let’s be honest, those standard quizzes can be a real snooze-fest for our students (and for us!).

That’s why I created the Harry Potter and The Sorcerer’s Stone Trivia Questions BOARD GAME! I wanted to find a way to make reviewing the book a genuine celebration, not a chore.

This isn’t just a worksheet in disguise; it’s a full-fledged board game designed to get your 4th-8th graders engaged and excited. I poured over every chapter of Harry Potter and The Sorcerer’s Stone to create 30 multiple-choice trivia questions that truly test comprehension in a fun, low-pressure way.

Here’s why I think you and your students will absolutely love it:

  • It’s more than just questions. As students correctly answer a question, they get to move around the game board! It turns a simple review into a competitive, collaborative, and super-fun activity.
  • The perfect group project. I designed this to be a fantastic small-group activity. Students can work together, discuss the answers, and help each other out, which is perfect for building classroom community while reviewing the story.
  • A “magical” way to assess. It’s the perfect way to gauge retention without the stress of a formal test. Students are having so much fun, they don’t even realize they’re demonstrating their understanding of the book!

I’m so proud of how this resource turned out, and I genuinely believe it can transform your next book review into something truly special.
